Hello, I’m Amanda.
A little more about me?
Writing has been a part of my life ever since I received my first diary (yes, the kind with the lock and the universal key) at seven years old. I began publishing zines while in undergrad and found that I truly loved not only reading but making opportunities for other writers. During graduate school I began setting up readings for writers at a local independent bookstore and worked with several poets on a collaborative effort in French. After graduate school, I worked with Francophone writers and assisted them in translating their works into English, wrote a treatment for a documentary film, and worked with Francophone writers in Québec and France.
I am a mama to six littles. We live in the deep south where kudzu and mosquitoes run amok. In between the mothering and the work, I write. I like coffee, (St.) Flannery, slow mornings, ampersands, and the Oxford comma.Though I write about all sorts of things in this space, I keep it as a personal record of small, beautiful moments; of the books I read; and this odyssey called life.
Let’s work together.
I love helping emerging and established writers get focused on their writing and overcome creative fear. If you want to work together, I’d love to hear from you. Get in touch!
